The best time to visit the Philippines is generally during the dry season, which runs from November to April. This period avoids the typhoon season, providing more favorable weather conditions for travel and outdoor activities. Also the air temperatures are more pleasant from December to February. But there are some exemptions to consider. For Example Siargao Island and the Province Surigao del Norte, Mindanao has a wet season from November to March (with strong winds and waves) and a relative dry season from April to October while in Manila and Luzon the wet season starts in June until November.

Monsoons are large-scale sea breezes which occur when the temperature on land is significantly warmer or cooler than the temperature of the ocean. Winter monsoons or northeast monsoons (Filipino: Amihan), from October to late March by contrast, have a dominant easterly component and a strong tendency to diverge, subside and cause drought.
